Wendy's Birthday Gifts

Wendy requested a Hot Iron Travel Pouch for her birthday,

here is what I made for her.

This is it opened. You slide your iron in the pocket and leave the cord out.
You can wrap it around the centre (I have re-enforced the seam here) or just sort of scrunch it up and fold it closed - whatever the case the cord is separate from the irons and I have used insulated batting so it should be safe enough to pack away warm.

I had this made with time to spare...

Sooo

I made this little union jack pouch.

This piece of fabric came with a magazine.
I think it was a Crafts Beautiful... maybe.
and
I also used the buttons that came with the last Mollie Makes magazine.

Back to St. Patricks Day

This was a Tuesday Night project that we did for St. Patricks Day...

The zipper brooch was a tutorial that I saw on One Pretty Thing
With a link to Craftaholics Anonymous

And this one is a Crochet version of the Shamrock that Tiff showed us how to do which involved using a 'magic loop' - we like the magic loop!

'Magic Loop' - was an adjustable loop that you put 13 trebles on then pulled the ends to make a round, 3 rounds equalled a Shamrock...

Notebook Workshop

This was actually a Tuesday night workshop from a couple of weeks ago that I was going to blog about straight away - but stuff happened!

In truth, I also started taking photo's to make this more of a tutorial but that didn't quite get off the ground either -  it is started so maybe I will finish it off one day...
soon.

Anyway

These are the notebooks that we made...

This one I made using one of my lino cuts prints.
Actually my youngest son specially asked me to make this for him.
Something to do with Pirates of the Caribbean...

This is one of mine too.
I like this one and it looks even better in the real.
I gave it to Kate.

This is Sharon's - which is lovely linen with a flower she already made attached.

Tiff's and Kate made the little bitty one from the scraps. Foxy.

Sylvia whipped this up in a matter of minutes - well done!

Wendy's first one...

Wendy's second one.

Kate's looking gorgeous, fab choice of fabric.

And Lisa's is very sweet. Love it.

Group shot - little ones to the front...

Lickety Split

Tuesday night I made this...

Wooly Tube Bead Necklace

and this

Felt Ball Pot Trivet

and

these...

Kanzashi Flowers

I used the Clover Kanzashi Flower maker and they are a dead cinch,
bit of a no brainer really.

and then I did also challenge myself a little bit and made a crochet flower...

Crochet Flower using Hemp yarn.

I was quite pleased with the result.
The Hemp is a bit thick - thin so the petals are a bit misshapen in areas - I like this.

And to be truthful it was not much of a challenge, I completed this fairly easily

or

maybe I should credit Tiff for her excellent tuition!
